Course Overview
In this course, students will go cover compilations such as the Sahih of Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban, and the al-Mustadrak of al-Hakim. The course will look at the differences between first and second tier collections, such as Sahih Bukhari and Muslim, and third tier collections by muhaddithin such as Ibn Hajr al-’Asqalani. Students will be provided with an understanding of the differences in methodology, classifications, and definitions employed by the muhaddithin of all tiers.
