Course Overview
This course provides a detailed study on the Islamic legal rulings of purification based on the book ‘Al-Fiqh al-Islami’, authored by Shaykh Akram Nadwi.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course students should be able to:
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the basic legal rulings related to ritual purification
- Identify the difference between the obligatory, recommended, permissible, disliked and prohibited acts rulings pertaining to ritual worship (ibadat) according to the Hanafi madhhab
- Broadly understand the role and development of the Hanafi madhhab in Islamic law
