Coherence of the Quran
Course Overview
This course covers the concept of Nizam al-Quran (Coherence of the Quran) as put forward by classical scholars of tafsir, and notably in the writings of Mawlana Hamid al-Din Farahi (d. 1929) and his students. Shaykh Akram Nadwi will discuss the arguments for regarding the Quran as a coherent discourse – as a book containing a Divine order and cohesive arrangement – as well as the view opined by classical exegetes that the Quran is devoid of any coherence.
